Description
The Sundown Audio U Series 6.5” D4 Subwoofer is a compact yet highly capable car audio upgrade built for listeners who want serious bass performance without sacrificing space. Designed for clean, controlled low-frequency output, this 6.5-inch subwoofer delivers 500 watts RMS and 1000 watts peak power, making it a strong choice for small enclosures, custom installs, and sound systems where precision matters.
What sets the U Series 6.5” D4 apart is its impressive 19mm one-way linear Xmax, which allows for greater cone movement and deeper bass response. This high-excursion design helps produce rich, accurate low-end notes with minimal distortion, even at higher output levels. Sundown Audio also incorporates an aluminum shorting ring cap and a solid pole with vent channels to improve motor efficiency and reduce inductance variation, resulting in smoother, more consistent sound quality.
Built for durability, the subwoofer features a 1.75” black aluminum voice coil former, high-temperature copper voice coil wire, rear gap venting, and top-plate cooling channels. These thermal management features help control heat during extended listening sessions and support reliable performance over time. The heavy-duty cast basket, double-stitched surround, and stitched tinsel leads further enhance structural strength and long-term durability.
Installation flexibility is another key advantage. The dual 4-ohm voice coil design allows for multiple wiring options, while the subwoofer performs well in both sealed and small ported enclosures. With a mounting depth of 5.71” and a cutout diameter of 5.94”, it fits neatly into a variety of custom audio setups.
For enthusiasts seeking compact size, powerful bass, and refined sound, the Sundown Audio U Series 6.5” D4 Subwoofer is a compelling choice.
