Description
The Sundown Audio X-Series XV4 12″ Subwoofer is built for listeners who want serious output with refined low-end accuracy. Designed to handle 2750 watts RMS and up to 5500 watts peak, this high-performance subwoofer delivers deep, powerful bass while maintaining excellent control and clarity. It is a strong choice for custom car audio systems, competitive SPL builds, and enthusiasts who demand both strength and precision from their sound.
At the core of the XV4 is a 9.25″ motor structure and premium Xv4 voice coils, engineered to support demanding use without losing efficiency. Its 30mm Xmax allows for impressive cone movement, helping produce low frequencies that stay tight, clean, and impactful even at high volume levels. This makes the Sundown Audio XV4 12 inch subwoofer ideal for systems that need bass with authority, not distortion.
Thermal management is another major advantage. The subwoofer is designed to stay stable during extended listening sessions, helping preserve performance and reliability under heavy load. With an Fs of 36.06 Hz and Qts of 0.49, it is especially well suited for ported enclosures, where it can deliver maximum output and responsive bass. Recommended box specs include a 2.5 cubic feet net enclosure tuned to 32 Hz with 40 square inches of port area. It also supports 4th order bandpass designs for more advanced custom installations.
Installation flexibility is enhanced by dual 2-ohm voice coil options, making it easier to match amplifier configurations. With an 11.09″ cutout and 11.75″ mounting depth, the XV4 fits a wide range of enclosure builds. For audio enthusiasts seeking a powerful 12″ subwoofer that balances durability, output, and precision, the Sundown Audio X-Series XV4 stands out as a premium choice.
